Shen Yang

Shen Yang was born in 1979 in Shi Jia Zhuang City in the province of Heibei, China. She studied photography at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), Beijing, where she was instructed by Ma Gang. Since 2004, she has been in a program for postgraduates at the media and photography department of CAFA.

In 2005, Shen Yang’s works were exhibited in the Nanjing Museum. She also participated in the “New Beijing, New Life” (CAFA and Art Center Nabi, Seoul, Korea) exhibitions.
In her photographs, Shen Yang elaborates on concepts of memory and the rapidly changing city life in Beijing.
